Traditions of festival:
Beaujolais in Uzhgorod is a kind of prototype of the holidays traditionally celebrated in Europe as a sign of the new harvest wine and honey. Transcarpathian festival is held in the "Owl's Nest" - at the intersection of Rakoczy, Dovzhenko and Post Office Square. At this place traders are deploying their tents and marquees. It is important to try not only the wine, honey, and their derivatives, but also eat meat dishes (kebabs, steaks, grilled sausages) and baked potato with bacon. More recently, the hawkers were offering guests and bakery products - homemade cakes, bagels and cakes with various fillings.
Interestingly, the tasting of traditional Transcarpathian dishes can be extended to wine cellars, located directly under the trading floors. In the shadows of the underground facilities, anyone can try more kinds of young wine than hawkers offer and spend a festive evening in a romantic ambience.
